Baseball idiots

Who were those baseball idiots who killed off disco? Disco looked like a lot of fun. It should not have come to an abrupt end like that. Should it have lasted forever, No. But it could have stretched on a few more years. People were enjoying themselves. Getting dressed up in cheesy clothes and stepping it up all over fancy lit dance floors. Why a bunch of fatasses at some game somewhere care about other peoples having fun? What about all the people who lost their businesses and jobs when these places closed? You know what is as boring af? Baseball.

reply

Disco died because the very same people who went to clubs, bought the music, and bought the high heeled shoes got sick of it and moved onto new wave music, gym exercise, or whatever other trend followed. Your logic is flawed.

reply

Nah, people got shamed out enjoying it because of thuggery

reply

Then disco deserved a quick death if it's fan base was so spineless and pathetic. New Wave and Punk was better anyway.

reply

Spineless and pathetic folk deserve to have fun too. New Wave and Punk fans looked kind of anemic and weak.

reply

Shut up, Meg.

reply

ccr is correct. Disco didn't die because of the anti-disco night at a baseball stadium - the anti-disco night happened because disco was pretty much dead anyway.

reply

It may have been a waning trend but those baseball buffoons and all the stupid repercussive humor that followed their stunt put an abrupt end to it.

reply

If that's all it took I would have ended disco 5 years earlier...

reply

I don't even think baseball was popular in NY in the late 70s when this movie was released

reply

It was very popular in NY in the 70's but it had nothing to do with disco dying.

reply

Another poster just posted that the Yankees won a couple of championships in the late 70s so that probably killed disco

reply

🤣🤣🤣

Don't care at all about the Yankees, Mets fan here, but I'm sure it wasn't the Yankees either.

reply

So was it the Mets that killed off disco?

reply

Absolutely not 😀

reply

So who in baseball killed off disco? This topic is very confusing

reply

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm afraid your assertion has a bit of a "plot hole" as it were!

reply

So it was the Yankees then that killed disco?

reply

Actually it was a rock dj. Maybe you should ban pop music and radio stations Karen.

reply

It was a rock DJ who pulled the “Disco Demolition Night” stunt in Chicago Comiskey Park in 1979. He was probably just panicking about rock music dying out.

reply

Baseball (righteously) decided that 5+ years of this is enough.

reply

As much as I hated disco during its heyday, I would gladly listen most of the disco tracks of that time compared to hip hop.
