Where did everyone first see this movie at?

I saw this movie at the drive-in with my girlfriend in 1977. The drive-in was cool because if your a partier,as we were , the stoner you got the better this movie got. Not that you had to be stoned to enjoy it then or now but it did add to the experience. You could hear people in other cars laughing their asses off all through the feature. In 1979 I became a theater manager of a dollar house and we packed them in with this movie for a couple of weeks. In 1981 I went to work for another theater chain ,also a dollar house, and again showed KFM and AGAIN packed people in to see it. People loved this movie at the time and ,as all the posts here show ,they still do, and it sold lots of tickets. I still have the original poster for this movie from that time and if you see it on ebay for cheap then buy it. This poster in good condition is now worth $150.00 to $200.00 depending where you see it listed for sale. People sell all kinds of posters on ebay well under their true value. What fond memories.

It was 1978, and I was a sophomore in high school. My best friend called me and we went to the local independent theatre (are there any left?), paid our $4 or so and went in. It was both funny and shocking. Neither of us expected to see...naked breasts...much less so many of them on the big screen. It was GREAT.

Last weekend I saw the DVD available so I HAD to buy it to relive those high school days. This morning was the first time in 32 years I saw it. And it was even funnier. So many of the jokes flew over my head then that I got now. Back then I hadn't seen any Bruce Lee flicks nor *really* knew what Behind the Green Door and Deep Throat were about.

The other movies I saw at that old theatre included Yessongs and Gimme Shelter. There was always a heavy cloud inside as everyone toked up-remember, it was still allowed to smoke inside back then. The stoner's laughter only made me laugh even more. My best friend is celebrating his 20th wedding anniversary this year. Wonder if he would appreciate a copy of this as much as I did. Needless to say, this movie could NEVER be made now especially with that rating. Who knew the 70's were the good ole days?

I saw this movie in the theater in 1977 when I was 13 years old. There was no problem smoking pot in the theater because back then smoking was allowed inside the theater and it seemed as if everybody smoked.

No one even noticed or cared that we were getting high.

Good times!

Boy, it sure would be nice if we had some grenades, don't you think?

Movie theater summer of 77 with gf. It was rough before the days of video, movies of this sort only in public. CHGiT got my "attention" and just when I thought I'd survive, they finished up with the couple watching the news. I could barely walk. Fortunately, it was a very cool night and I had a jacket for cover. GF Laurie couldn't figure out what the problem was at first but she soon fixed everything. She was always the understanding sort. That's why I married her! We watched it a few months ago. I fell asleep and she was more interested in her crocheting. Every now and then I wish for the "challenges" of the 17 year old but it passes.

Funny thing, I don't remember where I saw it first, but I recall the second time...it was at a neighborhood theater called the Adelphi in Chicago, on a double bill with TAXI DRIVER! Definitely the most mismatched double feature I ever went to, but I hadn't seen Taxi Driver yet and it was only about $1.50 to get in, so what the hey.

Saw it at Cinema V in Montreal in 1978. Cinema V was an old repertory cinema that had two screens and they would show this kind of film and all the most famous cult movies(I saw J-Men Forever there as well). Loved KFM and saw it next when they played it as a double feature with Airplane a couple of years later.
