The cars , hairstyles, clothes all look older than 1976 to me.
Maybe it didn’t get released until 1976?
That's because it takes place in the early 1960s.

shareThey did an incredible job at making the film look like 1961, despite likely having zero budget for the film. The production value overall is top notch, as is the camerawork and editing. You can tell the director took his time, and put a lot of effort into making the film look great. It's still a low-budget horror film, but it stands out from most others of its ilk.
