Impressive
I ordered this DVD after going through Antonio Mayans‘ filmography, I’m a Franco enthusiast, and I’m glad I did. Everything is quite realistically shot but you might have to suspend some disbelief the way the dog keeps popping up at just the right time. But yeah, the dog relentlessly chases Jason Miller across a fictional South American country and all the encounters are well shot and entertaining. Miller at one point even disguises himself as as a priest to evade his enemies. :)
Even when the dog is not onscreen there are some fantastic scenes, like the shootout on a ferry between the government soldiers and rebels that I thought was very well done. Look for the WTF moment when Miller’s character is so traumatized by being constantly stalked by the dog, that he blows away a friendly German shepherd on accident.
I definitely recommend this one to fans of obscure 70s films.
