metaphor..

am i the only one who thought this movie was a huge metaphor for the christian religion? the whole fact that they all are living in this idealistic world thinking they're reborn with this wonderful ceremony..just to find out the truth, all that happens is death. maybe i'm reading into it way too much..but it seemed to relate well

good movie though. the plot was really unique

SMSBLUE7,Your post was in 2008 but I'll respond anyway,I hope you're still there.I agree about the religion. Renewal at Carousel is hopes of rebirth(afterlife)when death is right under your nose. After Logan and Jessica(rational doubters) came back they tried to tell the masses the truth but they turned around, laughed and stayed in their fools' paradise. Easy denial versus hard-earned logic.Let them go to carousel to die if that's what they want.Natural selection.Definitely religious at least to me.
