I'll cut her slack because she was only a child, but did anybody else think this little girl had some of the most ridiculous screams? I'm not talking about the sound. But usually upon screaming, her body was motionless and she'd lean her head forward. Seemed very much "on cue" and fake.
If you like Tobe Hooper's whacky side then you really, really do need to check out his Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel, I know you added it to your watchlist but I'm just reiterating how bonkers it is. I know you have a taste for crazy movies.
Eaten Alive (1976) walked so The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986) could run.
I decided to watch TCM2 first and damn, it was bat shit crazy. Thank god it didn’t have the serious tone of the first one or some of the gruesome scenes would have been unbearable without comedy. lol It was so crazy seeing Dennis hopper in this role, and man, he was great. It was so all over the place and by the end when Stretch gets out and you see what everything out there looks like in the daylight, you start thinking what the hell else could happen, then it ends perfectly. Caroline Williams and her stuntwoman gave it their all, that’s for sure. Loved it and thanks for the recommendation.
It's truly insane. I didn't know what the hell I was watching when I first saw it, I was on the fence on whether I liked it or not but over the years and after subsequent rewatches I've grew to love it.
Yeah it's really grotesque and gory. The underground lair is an great setting and the chainsaw fight at the end is awesome (aren't all chainsaw fights?).
The cast was great. Caroline Williams as 'Stretch', Dennis Hopper as 'Lefty' and Bill Moseley as 'Chop Top' were all superb. Jim Siedow as 'Drayton Sawyer' cracks me up, shout out to Lou Perryman as 'L.G.'.
When I saw the Cannon logo in the beginning I figured I was in for a different experience from the original. But yeah, the electric knife scene was brutal. :)
I just loved all the wtf moments, and there were many. Of course, my first viewing, but did Dennis Hopper’s chainsaw suddenly grow in length at one point? Even Leatherface’s chain saw looked like it was brand new after repeatedly trying to cut through the metal door. lol too much crazy stuff to list, and your right, what a fantastic set design in the underground lair!
Tobe Hooper was on fire from 1974 till 1986 (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Eaten Alive, Salem's Lot, The Funhouse, Poltergeist, Lifeforce, Invaders from Mars and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) one of my favorite director movie streaks.
