Fav song?

Am I the only one who gives Time warp a meh, but loves some of the other songs?

I really love Superheroes, Rose Tint my World and Science Fiction/Double Feature a lot more than TW.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here but would be interested to hear other opinions.

Oh, and no, I'm not here because of Glee, I caught it on FMC today!

Time Warp is overblown beyond all reason. Rose Tint my World and Science Fiction Double Feature are without a doubt my favorites. Always great to see a new fan, by the way. :)

Most of the songs are enjoyable.

My faves are Over at the Frankenstein place and Rose, tint my world.

Glee shouldn't have sang anything!! Don't get me wrong I'm a (somewhat) Glee fan, to an extent - I hate the cliche/stereotypical/cheesy side of it, but they should have left Rocky Horror be!! It's a classic, they got a lot of well deserved backlash for covering too.

I second Lolawoo's comment against Glees's Rocky Horror episode. Bad reviews all around or not, it has appeared to have brought out many new fans to see the movie at home and even attend midnight shows, conventions and these/other RHPS boards. That's the good news, at least. Thing is, for the huge lot that didn't make the leap into the Transylvanian world after only seeing Glee's version and not the movie--either because it didn't entice them enough or they disliked the performances--means the episode failed to some extent. Personally, I say if a proper tribute can be made (i.e, via assistance from original film hands and possible actors, Meatloaf's and Barry Bostwick's cameos notwithstanding), then go for it. Otherwise stop correcting a perfectly working machine!

*ahem*

As for my fav song(s), I would agree that "Time Warp" is a bit overrated as a song, but it's still a blast to dance to in threatres.

"Sweet Transvestite" is a given as is "Hot Patootie (Whatever Happened to Saturday Night)".

"Planet Schmanet" is always fun, too. "Science Fiction/Double Feature" and the entirety of the floor show sequence's music is right up there as well.

Honestly, I like them all but can never pick just one. Plus, my tastes change constantly with my mood...

Thank you, and I forgot Dammit Janet! I say that phrase everyday, and people are like "whaa?"

My favorite Song is Eddie, which appears to be in the minority.

I think you people are making too much out of Glee. I liked it. If you think of it as a remake, then, yes, it was bad. With a one-hour time constraint, they couldn't have done the whole film anyway. Time, also, caused the shortening of what songs they did do. They had to use the Glee cast, so coming up with a Tim Curry was out of the question.

Think of it as a story about a bunch of high-school kids putting on a play. The planning, the side-stories took a lot of time. Personally, I applaud the Glee writers. For a high-school play, it was pretty good.

If you bitched at Glee, I'm sure you'll trash the RHPS remake when it comes out next year. Here a bit of pre-advice: If you don't like it, then don't go to see it.

I would have to watch the movie a couple more times and keep hearing the songs, but my two of my favourites are:

Time Warp
Sweet Transvestite

But my absolute 2 favourite songs in the movie are:

Toucha Toucha Touch Me
Superheroes (This is the best song in the whole movie, I love it).

Dunno why no one mentions the engagement song, thats good, and Wise Up Janet Weiss is great to, for the energy if nothing else.

It's hard for me to pick an absolute favorite, since I love all of them. However, I think "Touch-A Touch-A Touch Me" is my personal favorite. I listen to the soundtrack constantly, and just watched the movie again last night. Here are my favorites:

1. Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch Me
2. Rose Tint My World
3. Superheroes
4. Sweet Transvestite
5. Dammit Janet

Awesome. Substitute 'Science Fiction, Double Feature' for 'Superheroes,' and you've got all my favorites. Those first on the list are super-catchy, and the most well-written ones of the bunch, I think.
Are you a cast 'Janet' by any chance? Because the songs you've picked seem to be ones that most Janets like.

reply

Thanks! No, I've never done the live show. I just love janet's songs, I guess. I almost chose Science Fiction Double Feature myself. :)

I do love The Time Warp, but Sweet T is my favorite song, along with Wild and Untamed Thing and Toucha.

reply

Time warp and sweet transvestite are the best sonds in the whole movie.

reply

As much as I love Time Warp, it is very iconic and catchy, and all the other songs in this movie, Sweet Tranvestite is my favourite. Not just the quotable lyrics, or Tim's singing, but for me one of the most memorable parts of the movie is when Frank-N-Furter throws off his cloak to reveal his drag, both bizarre and mesmerising at the same time.

Definitely - Over at the Frankenstein Place ( it's always been my # 1 favorite ) ! Susan Sarandon ( as Janet ) and Barry Bostwick ( as Brad ) sing it together so perfectly ( like it's own little opera lol ) . Richard O'Brien ( as Riff-Raff ) sings his solo deeply clever ( and a bit sinisterly ) but flawlessly at the same time ( IMPO it's the best way for me to put it lol ) .

Thanks naturboy99 for your subject post .
