Favorite Song

Of the two dozen plus songs, which one was your favorite? I can understand if you don't have one or hate country music, but I liked all the songs among my favorites are:

One I Love You
I'm Easy
200 Years
Tapedeck in his tractor (Cowboy Song)
It Don't Worry me

My favorite is Dues, not only for being such a great song in and of itself, but for the way it crystallizes Barbara Jean's relationship with her husband and her fans.

After that, It Don't Worry Me and I'm Easy.

"Who does this treachery?" I shout with bleeding hands

"My Idaho Home" - The first time I saw the movie it sent chills through me. I didn't even know what was coming, and I still felt--I don't know--some sense of foreboding in the deprivation it recounts in such an upbeat way. I guess it's upbeat. Anyway after much wavering, that's my choice for favorite song from the movie.

Then I think of other songs in the film and think, "Gosh, that song is good." I loved all of the Connie White songs. There's a harshness to her voice that is stunning. "Rolling Stone" is my favorite from her.

Quite a few others have mentioned "Since You've Gone." I completely agree. The song is great, and Christina Raines performance is spot on.

'Rolling Stone' is the best written song in the movie and easily has one of the best musical moments too (Vassar Clements solo)

'I'm Easy' is the worst. Just drivel. Sorry.

'Dues' is also an incredibly moving song.

I'd love to hear the song that Connie White starts to sing at the end of the Goo Goo Hour scene.

My top 5:

Dues
I'm Easy
I Never Get Enough (it's just so damn funny)
Memphis
It Don't Worry Me

I'm not a country music fan, but I love the soundtrack!

"It Don't Worry Me": the ambiguous ending to this film is very well done. (Is the audience's willingness to join in the song after the shooting a sign of complacency or resilience?)

"Tapedeck in His Tractor"

It's such a catchy beat and Ronee's performance gives so much soul and depth.
