Great movie, but...

I really enjoy this film. But I always thought the last fight scene, with the British import boxer, was a bit anticlimatic. A couple of the earlier fights were more intense, gripping, and suspenseful. I think either they should have saved the bald-headed guy for last, OR gotten a more imposing-looking physical specimen to play the British boxer. The guy just did not look scary or intimidating, so the climax felt a bit flat. But overall, a great film, one of my favorites.

My exact thoughts.

Remember Lion Heart with Van Damme? The final boss was awesome...

I hear what you are saying and somewhat agrees. First of all, I love this movie, always have since I was a boy.

You are right, Jim Henry, was fierce looking, big, balled and mean. The Chicago fighter, Street, looks more sofisticated. However, he does show Chaney, he aint afraid of him, and is rdy to get it on earlier, in the bar scene.

If we go in the technical aspect of the two fights. Jim Henry, was a simple fighter, who used his strenght and size to overwhelm opponents, and had a solid chin also. His gameplan : to break his face asap, Chaney was just too quick for him.

Street : A bit more technical fighter, but also with a big heart. You also see him try throw alot of kicks during the fight, and jabbing. He wanted to wear down Chaney. Dont forget he did something Henry couldnt, knocked/kicked down Chaney twice ;)

One other note, the Jim Henry fight, was also more "brutal" because of the place it was fought, the cage makes it very good vs the oyister house for the fight vs Street.

All in all, good point, and I agree with you.
