keeps the old look but Color done right adds to the movie magic

IF MEL BROOKS WANTED IT IN COLOR...MEL BROOKS WOULD HAVE PAINTED IT HIMSELF!

Exactly.

The studio originally tried to pressure Brooks into filming it in color but he refused. Thankfully.

That defeats the whole purpose of it being in black and white. It’s an homage to the classic monster films.
