Why aren't there comedies like this anymore?

What happened to good funny movies?? I often search for new to just make me laugh, and pickings are pretty slim.

Here are the most popular comedies for 2015:

Can anybody suggest anything recent that compares to Young Frankenstein or Blazing Saddles?

The 70s were golden decade for music and comedy films (Mel Brooks & Woody Allen did their best work).

As already mentioned, Political "Correctness" is one reason why. Here's another:

Let's recast it!!!

Dumbassed over-wrought tasteless prick n00blets. So stupid!

Not quite the same, but one of my top favorite comedies of the last ten years is Step Brothers.

Try The Comedy and Entertainment.

Comedy at its core requires a certain amount of offense. And half the country has lost the ability to laugh at itself and the other half fears offending them.

Thus comedy uses shock in place of offense and also plays it safe This is pretty much a formula for the death of pre-80s style comedy.

There are always exceptions but so few and far between I can't think of an example at the moment.

"Where you headed?"
"Nowhere special."
"Nowhere special. Always wanted to go there."

There is absolutely no way you could get away with Blazing Saddles today! Who would protest? Blacks, Jews, Indians. Oh yeah, lets not forget the Irish!

Mongo just a pawn in the game of life.

"But we don't want the Irish!"

Now, if a film has a few funny parts the entire thing is considered hilarious. Audience standards have fallen and skin has become much thinner. Once people realize it's okay to offend and to be offended again we might get some truly funny movies.

If Young Frankenstein were made today, as mild as it is, you'd have feminists and people of German ancestry lined up to file suit.
