I too first saw it at a drive-in theatre when it came out. It was a major hit around here and having not much else to do on late spring/early summer nights my buddies and I went to it at the drive-in at least two dozen times during its run here. We were not the only ones. It was like a cult following. Adding to the experience was that we went in my 1962 cutlass convertible.
shareI saw it at a movie theater in Chicago during the summer of 1974. I remember the ending was the most stunning I had ever seen up to then, and saw it a few times while it was still there. I purchased the DVD a few years ago, and still enjoy watching it now and then. Peter Fonda and Susan George are both great here.
shareFirst saw it at the cinema in my home town Harlow, Essex Uk. I remember being disappointed after seeing Susan George in Straw Dogs. Her accent in this was kind of weird included English, Australian with a touch of U.S. Have just seen it again for the first time in 40 years on MovieMix (UK)
shareI saw it at the local second-run theater with my dad and my sister. It was the first in a double feature with "Vanishing Point."
shareAt a drive-in in York, Pa., the summer it came out. My parents were visiting friends and their son (several years older than I, then 15...) took me along with some of his friends, or maybe his girl, don't remember - very nice of him, I always remembered it - and the film.

Originally at the Rose Theater in Glendive, Montana. I think, hey it's 42 years ago. Or maybe it was at the Skylark Drive-in. I remember it was based on a book written by Richard Unikis called "the Chase" and was going to check it out, but that idea flitted away like every other idea I've had.
Netflix has it.

TV. Stupid movie, like a lot of films.
shareSaw in El Cajon, (San Diego suburb) theater on Main Street, roughly where the San Diego County Credit Union across from Jack In The Box is now. Back in the seventies it turned into a Mitchell Brothers X - Rated pussycat Theatre...After that the floors were sticky...not that I had any first hand knowledge! ...I remember driving by and looking to see the "Preverts" buying tickets...
