Son in Law kept calling Bronson "Dad" and his wife "Mom"...

Hi - At one point, Bronson's secretary says that "your Son-In-Law is on the line"... then Bronson says "Hi Jack", then Jack calls him "Dad" and refers to him as "Dad" throughout the movie. Jack even says "Mom and Carole" at one point, talking about Bronson's wife and his own wife Carole. Who would call their In-Laws "Mom and Dad"??

I do it. My wife and her family does it. My family does it. It's not weird. I love my in-laws. I saw it growing up in the 80's and 90's. Its probably more common here than where you're from. I see it as no different than calling a step parent or adoptive parent mom and dad.

In All In The Family Meathead always called Edith (his mother-in-law) Ma.

I don't call my in-laws "mom" and "dad", and my wife doesn't do that with my parents, either. However, I have heard other people do it. It's not as common as just using their first names, but it really does happen.

I call my mother-in-law and father-in-law, "Mom and Dad", ever since I've been married. My wife does the same for my parents.

My sister-in-law (wife's sister) married a guy who has called them by their first name ever since he met them at age 16. My mother-in-law actually says it sounds like he doesn't respect her.

She seems to have a stick up her ass.

Far from it. She’s extremely considerate and nice to everyone she meets. Once you get to know her properly then you are subject and to her humor.

It's one of those American thing. Like a man saying "we're pregnant" when his partner is pregnant.

I'd be weird as shit in other cultures, though.
