Best father: Charles Ingalls vs John Walton?
John Walton
shareYeah, I can agree to this. Chuck was more self-serving and more incompetent. Not that he treated his kids bad but he didn't really lead them along like John Walton did.
shareI never did watch the Waltons much as a kid. I liked Charles Ingalls, but it bothered me that he was always making financial mistakes and causing hardships for his family. Meanwhile, Caroline knew how to run a successful business. Everyone loved her restaurant.
shareI was much more LHOP than Waltons, but I would have preferred John Walton. Charles was just too into his own preachiness when he was kind of a loser. John Walton provided for a much larger family and was reasonable and mature. If he couldn't afford to take in more kids, he wouldn't have unlike Charles.
Walton was wise and understanding to others. Ingalls was a petulant child who couldn't shut his judgmental mouth and provide for his family.
Saying that, I would have much preferred being on the prairie than in Appalachia. Or I would have taken up with Cora Beth as a teen and been her drinking partner and been in a drunken stupor on moonshine all day to deal with all the inbreeding around me.
I've only just started watching the show, but John Walton would have done a helluva lot better in these frontier conditions. I think I prefer Caroline to Olivia though.
shareBoth wrong answers. Hank Hill.
shareAgree, John. The Walton household was a matriarchy which Olivia ran with an iron hand. That gave John the freedom to be the cool, laid back Dad.
shareLucas McCain.
shareBOTH ARE BORING!...I AM WRITE IN VOTING FOR STEVEN KEATON.
shareyou have never seen either of these shows?
shareRANDOM EPISODES OF PRAIRIE AS A SMALL CHILD WITH MY GRANDPARENTS...I HEARD BUT DID NOT SEE SOME EPISODES OF THE WALTONS WHEN I WAS IN HOME SCHOOL FOR 8TH GRADE.
MICHAEL LANDON'S FOLLOW UP HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN WAS A FAVORITE OF MY GRANDPARENTS THOUGH...I SAW THEM ALL...TWICE.
Chuck would fiddle play that Walton guy under the table!
