I saw an episode about Jack the Ripper a couple years ago

It was the first time I'd seen one since I was very little and they were on in reruns. I wasn't around for the original airings.

Anyways, I've lived in the Chicago area all my life, and this episode was set here. One thing struck me, they had a police broadcast about something happening at the intersection of Pulaski and Laramie which is funny since both roads run north-south and never intersect.

In the good old days before the internet made everything readily available, they could get away with that kind of thing and only a few people would notice. Now everyone knows everything because of social media, so mistakes like that don't fly.

Actually the entire SERIES is set in Chicago.

I was living there when this show was big.

I lived on North Laramie off of North Ave down the road from St. Peter Canisius Catholic Church.

Hollywood always f*cks up geography unless it’s New York or Los Angeles.

Ptah! Those two cities are the only ones that matter. Everywhere in between, why we're just unwashed bumpkins who ain't even got no pitcher-boxes anyhows!

Wasn't it actually filmed in L.A? Some people have pointed out in the past that palm trees are visible in some scenes which don't grow in Chicago.

They DON'T have palm trees in Chicago? lol Actually a lot of the USA looks suspiciously like southern California when shown on TV, such as those mountains in Walnut Grove in Little House on the Prairie.

Actually there was one episode that was not set in Chicago. It was a very early episode when Carl schemed to do an interview of a visiting guru in L.A. He had heard about some suspicious deaths which seemed to be the work of a vampire.
He wanted to investigate. It was the lady vampire story. One of the best episodes in the series I think.

There was also an episode about a werewolf that was set on a cruise ship.
