Midsommar vs. The Wicker Man?
Which one is a better film, in your opinion?
shareMidsommer came across as a cleaner take on the idea. The prim & proper British village didn't quite gibe w/ the pagan make-over, as in Wicker Man. Also, the victims were far more compellingly chosen. It was also far more beautiful & hypnotic, the pagan culture more organically rendered.
The fact that it is a re-worked idea doesn't detract for me, because for some strange reason, I'd never gotten around to see Wicker Man till after. Sometimes a rework is better than the original. In this case, I think it is.
