Robin Hood was my first crush!

Did anyone else have a huuuuuge crush on him as a kid? He just seemed really charming and heroic.
I love Robin Hood in Robin Hood Men In Tights too. :)

There's nothing wrong with that! I'm a gay male and, looking back, Robin attracted me quite a bit. Never mind that he is a cartoon fox, his character is something that I would like very much for my future life partner: sweet, charming, romantic, the list goes on... heroic, well, that definition varies from person to person, but courage and the heart to stand up to what is right is something that attracts me.

reply

I suppose he is quite foxy, but I'm not into transvestites.

My first cartoon crush was Trent from Daria. Yum yum.

zing!

reply

His voice is really sexy! I am not joking.

reply

i didn't have a crush on robin hood really but i did always think his voice was hot. still do!

but even if robin hood is a cartoon he's supposed to be brave, loyal, fun, sweet, and generous. So it doesn't surprise me when some people say they had a little crush on him as children.

I think the voice of that girl hyena in the Lion King is sexy!

reply

LOL she was voiced by Whoopi Goldberg!
I'm not sure why that's funny but it's 11:39pm right now...

Why so in your face with the Jeebus stuff?

reply

I completely agree!

reply

He was my second crush.

my first was shadow from sonic adventure battle 2

reply

i had a big deal about Maid Marian. wow-zah!

reply

Yea same here. Her and the female fox from Fox and the Hound

reply

Though he may be a fox, he was EXTREMELY sexy. I think we're all a bit deprived as children if you know what i mean. That's why we develop our first crushes on foxes : S

reply

i totally fancied him and still do seeing as i watched it today..

reply

deprived or depraved?

True) first time seeing in childhood, even cried when watch it. But re-watched just now and still remember some scenes and they are charming, just like years ago - it's wonderful.

I have a thing with cartoon foxes. And I'm pretty sure this movie was the roots. The pair are just so cute and stuff.

My whole life just flashed before my eyes. It was really boring

He was mine too!

I also, strangely, had a crush on Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I know, it does sound odd, but his shy, sweet nature and gentleness entranced me, I actually thought that he was cute. He was such a sad character for me; I just wanted to hug him sometimes.

reply

Oh god, me too!! I saw "Hunchback" in the cinema for my eighth birthday andcame out completely smitten with him. I thought I was insane. Yay!! Now I know I'm not the only one. ^_^

reply

Me too! And I'm still attracted to Robin Hood and I'm 19. For both of them, it's the personalities, definitely. ~sigh~ Is that pathetic, that I'm crushing on cartoon characters?

reply

I'll second that notion as well!

~AnimeGoddess~

reply

Agreed. Robin Hood had the best voice ever in my life. That's hott.

You may be the universe's butt puppet, but I'm it's right handed fist of fate.

reply

Lol I know what you mean about the Hunchback of Notre Dame, he was quite mysterious, although I don't think I ever had a crush on him!! I do remember having a huggggeeeee crush on El Nombre, a plasticine mouse who taught you to count! Did anyone else watch that or was it just an English thing?

reply

This is the most insane thing I hsve ever seen. I used to think I was crazy when I had a crush on "anabelle" from all dogs go to heaven, the point is I thought haveing alikeing for good looking female cartoon dogs with them. DOn't tell me your having "You know what" next.

reply

I thoght maid marian and the female fox in fox and the hound were hot.And...i...used to...like...kimpossible? impossible.well not rely impossible.

reply

Yeah Robin Hood does have a rather sexy voice - such a roguish gentleman ;) I remember having a crush on Simba when I was little as there was a huge Lion King craze when it first came out. I remember liking Woody from Toy Story, I had a pullstring doll of him! I remember he other kids would always prefer Buzz, but I would always stick up for Woody no matter what - "He didn't mean to push him out the window!" I remember a very common phrase us 5 and 6 year olds would use at that point was "falling with style," I think we thought it sounded cool... ahh childhood days.

reply

I always felt that this movie was the most "romantic" of any of the animated pictures. I had a crush on Robin Hood too. I remember seeing it in the theatres, though it must have been an 80's re-release since i wasn't alive in 1973. It is my all-time favorite Disney movie, with The Parent Trap being a close second.

EDIT: Just checked Imdb and it was re-released in 1982. I was four! I even remember that I got a huge plastic cup that had all the Robin Hood characters on it. Wish I still had it...

Sprechen zie koala?

reply

El Nombre!?!?!?!
Was he dressed like Zoro and always swung in on ropes? I don't remember him teaching how to count either . There was also a character named 'Little Juan (huan)' is that what you were talking about?

Hmmmm, I don't know if mine's the same version - all he ever did was swing in, act like a bit of an idiot and catch the bad guy seriously don't remember any educational value involved. Ever heard of the Little Juan(sp?) character?

I didn't really have a crush on him but he was (and still is) one of my favourite characters ever!
And Robin Hood in Men in Tights (Cary Elwes) is so hot! and funny too.

reply

Crikey, I thought I was the only one, the foxy Robin Hood is strangely attractive

Thanks to you lot for making me feel better!!

reply

I feel exactly the same. I was four when this came out and was head-over-heels in love with Robin Hood. My daughter is watching it now, and I confessed to her with some embarrassment that I had a crush on him when I was kid. Imagine my surprise when I find that I am far from the only one!

reply

[deleted]

i had one of the biggest crushes on him too, but i was so mad that he ended up with Maid marian

[deleted]

Oh yes, I actually still think he's rather crush-worthy...glad I'm not the only one haha! His voice is definitely the clincher. I loved Marian too, I wanted to be her for a while.
