Man... The fight/chase after the archery was all over the place!

Ok, this is not only my favorite Disney movie, but also one of my most favorite movies EVER, but I watched it last night, and, well...

Ok, so there's the part where a group of characters (Including Little John) go into a tent, and then all run off still inside it. L. John looks out and sees a load of character run left and right; the mother rabbit suddenly has two extra bunnies from nowhere, that dog with a broken leg somehow keeps up with everyone else, and we can clearly see Robin and Marian running to the right of the screen. Then in the next shot, Robin is fighting an Alligator - how the hell did he get there so fast?

A few more scenes of romantic lines while fighting (which I always found cool), and the runaway tent comes crashing through, and then all of a sudden the Alligator no longer has his sword and shield (assuming it's the same one), and is all "Attention Everyone!!" before getting owned by the tent - seriously; did he not notice all the commotion around him? Who the hell decides to give a speech during a brawl?!

Then, the tent crashes into a tower with two elephants on top, and destroys it with ease - if it could be destroyed that easier I'm surprised the elephants didn't break it just by standing on top of it. Then there's the nice Jungle Book reference, and the NFL parodies which I laughed at as a kid, and they're done. It's so nice how this scene is JUST before my favorite song/scene in the movie (I just love romantic scenes), but seriously I think that whoever planned this scene had a few pints beforehand.

Love this movie :D

There is something about the unpolished nuances of the character animation and voices that make this a very special film despite the amateur scripting and the overall cheap feel to it. The humor is utterly bizarre and quite unlike any other Disney film I've seen, and the chase scene in particular stands out as its totally off-the-cuff and spontaneous. The part where the blinded elephants in the tent start chasing the sherrif everywhere he goes cracks me up every time.

If I could drop dead right now, I'd be the happiest man alive.

im not sure, but i feel like this movie has been influenced by franco-belgian comics, most notably Asterix and perhaps less - Lucky Luke. i have to watch this movie as an adult again to get a new perspective on it, but now when i think about it i can see alot of similarities. its the classic story of two friends going in to an adventure - one small and clever (robin hood=asterix), one big and strong (little john=obelix), then theres the figure of bard (who in this case CAN actually sing and play, unlike cacofonix). i also see a similar type of humor and the scene of "the village celebration."

don't get me wrong, this is perhaps my favorite cartoon of all times i think all these little things make it great

You might have a point about Robin Hood and Little John having a Asterix/Obelix-like relationship in this version. Interesting observation!

But let me make one correction: Cacafonix can play the lyre, but not sing.

Intelligence and purity.

Something I`ve wondered about is the brawl going on in the tent, when Lady Kluck stabs one of the guards in his butt with the golden arrow. There are many guards in the tent, so why did everybody start running when Kluck only stabbed one guard?

reply

Rule of Funny.

Supermodels...spoiled stupid little stick figures mit poofy lips who sink only about zemselves.

The guards are rhinos. If the one guard jumped into the other, and so forth, what would happen?

That scene was hilarious!

..."before getting owned by the tent"...
I LOLed at that :-D

I like What Little John Saids:
Little John: Oh, What a Main Event This Is, Hahaha, What a Beautiful Brawl.
Hey, Who's Driving This Flying Umbrella?

That whole sequence was my favorite scene!

That and the jailbreak scene were my favorites!

"Then, the tent crashes into a tower with two elephants on top, and destroys it with ease"

A Twin Tower, Ironically.

That's just another indicator of the childhood innocence this movie represents.
