This is possibly one of the best westerns I've ever seen

What do you all think? Very different, but man was it entertaining. Beautiful ending. Genius.

Donnie: Why do you wear that stupid bunny suit?
Frank: Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?

well i'm not sure, been a while since i saw it, but i will say this, i recall it has a great dialogue, i saw this when i was a kid, and lines from this movie has stuck with me since.

a land far from home,
we were just relaxing watching "it" on the big screen,
my buddy and me,
no car found nearby, but i thought you did go,
many people here, repearing an old building on a hill up on,
i went over there, and i heard a scream,
pissing off some other gangster that i see,
i was just trying to help a girl,
treated like garbage in this part of the world,
my buddy and me, we were supose to be leaving at 20:15,
though now i got these mean guys after me,
and i got to run, from a land far from home,
and though i keep running, i keep getting busted in my dream,
i run day and night, sleeping in castles woods deep,
untill i'm reaching close to the land of home,
what happened to my buddy, i don't know,
jumping over a creek,
blueberry woods, hope no bear i'll meet,
getting close to home,
back around the land i know,
to my advantage if they are still in my neck close,
running towards home.

I get a kick out of all of Terence Hill's comedy movies, whether he is a cop (Crimebusters) or a cowboy.

I can't compare it to dramatic westerns anymore than I can compare his cop movies to Dirty Harry, etc. Each has their own appeal.

I bought this on DVD and it is still side splitting to watch some of the scenes:

"Can you see me better now?"

"Can't I do it with milk?"

The whole scene with the punching dummy was great.

Agree it was a great ending.

Up until minutes ago I had never seen this. Great cast. Was searching on Hill when I found it.

Needs a cup of Bronson.

Music and ambiance are incredible.

I've seen many of these mixed format westerns and glad finally got to this one.
Great intro shot by Fonda had me hooked. Touches of Once Upon a Time in the West with the guy 'fly fishing' -- kept me hanging with all that patience.
Use of silence, high style design, twists and turns, just so engaging as to what next. Liked way they timed beginning music to little boat & guys crossing the river while playing & paddling. Film certainly worth the time.
Dialog is great too. Right up there with The Wild Bunch for sheer appeal if dif approach. "Only three?"

I really enjoyed this movie when I saw it in the Gulfgate Four theater in Houston. Henry Fonda had success in the spaghetti western genre and no one had a idea that it would be his last on. He health began to fail a couple of years after that but he was in good shape there for being 68.

I know he seems to be definitely retired from acting and he is 85 but a few years ago I would have liked to have seen Clint Eastwood do the Henry Fonda part as his final western. I don't know who could have played the Terrance Hill part but I think it would have been a good one and a fitting finale' for the end his western career. The could have began it with a montage of clips from his earlier westerns to establish a back story like they did with the beginning of The Shootist with John Wayne. Very good movie when it is uncut.

Nice casting idea for Nobody. Film really wears well for me in memory.
fwiw liked the trailer for Jane Got a Gun. Solid cast coming up in 2016 after
delay due to Paris attacks.

Thank you. I am looking forward to seeing this one. I think Hollywood is starting to understand that I think in the days of the Old West that when it came fighting time that women were more likely to be up there shooting along side the men. Until recently, a lot of western, and otherwise good ones, did not show women doing this but usually victims cowering in fear. I have seen several other westerns following this thread and most of them have been good.
