Damn Gritty

I just recently saw The Friends of Eddie Coyle for the first time a couple of days ago and I can’t stop thinking about it. Mitchum is absolutely amazing in this realistically depressing film. I could see where it’s heading toward the end but I did not want to accept it.

Anyone who enjoys crime films should seek this one out.

Excellent movie
Mitchum at his very best, Boyle is terrific too and the story is really tense...Coyle was in a real bind

I felt so bad after it was all over.

Me too...poor Eddie 'Fingers'
The novel was very good as well

If you like crime movies that seem real, you like this.

If, like me, a Beantown boyo who knows the locations where they filmed this, you LOVE it.

Bob Mitchum, Paul Newman and Steve McQueen epitomized 60s cool.

I agree it’s totally one of the best movies from the 70s. It’s the movie that got me into Robert Mitchum.
