this film misleads people when they watch Casablanca!

I'm serious! The line in Casablanca is "play it, Sam", not "play it again, Sam"! I don't hate this movie, but the title has mislead people who watch Casablanca. Even when I first saw Casablanca I thought the line would be "play it again, Sam". Anyone else had this experience?

More importantly, the print of CASABLANCA that Allen Felix watches at that revival house is missing the whole showdown with Strasser! What the hell??!!

Casablanca should be required viewing before anyone sees Play It Again, Sam. Adding A Night in Casablanca would be good too.

The phrase is musical. If you look at the stress on the syllables they go PLAY it A-gain SAM. That repeated stress-no stress sequence is so elemental that babies can recognize it. That's probably why people remember it this way.

The reason Woody called it that is because Sam already played it in Casablanca. He wants him to play it AGAIN for himself!

I found this out about the time the movie came out ... yeah, it had no effect on me at all.
