I think it's time for a remake...

I must say I love this movie but I would also like to see a modern rendition of it. I think if they did remake it they should stick to the original stories climaxing at the Ford's encounter, but not make it so much like a documentary.

I doubt even the most talented directors could redo this and be successful.
I still think it's one of the scariest movies ever made. Perhaps if they made a new one based on sightings in the area that were documented after the events of the first film.
I know that there were sightings that took place in southern Oklahoma. Maybe a new film could speculate on where the creature may have fled after the events of Boggy Creek.

Perhaps. I agree that an already established director would most likely not do the film but then again finding a talented new one would be tricky.

Yes, I've heard of tales of sasquatch like creatures down in the southeastern part of Oklahoma for years. I think it would be difficult to find a writer to turn all those sightings in to a screenplay though.

They're doing a remake starts filming next month in Texas. My friend got cast in it as one of the leads.

Bigfoot movies seem to be confined to Direct-to-DVD these days. I doubt even a remake of this movie would be an exception.

Would be great but hollywood would f it up into some syfy original or something like uturn. The actual events and eye witness reports would be ignored and it would probably be filmed in a california parking lot. This film is really a documentary more than antyhing else. Though it did make a cool 20 million lol.

I think they should make a sequel to this and keep the documentary style, and make it about the sightings of the Fouke Monster that have happened since this movie was made in 1972.

HELL NO! It can NEVER be re-made, it's an American classic. Let the Hollywood crew try something new for a change, I get SO tired of them copying the classics, then ruining them too GRRRR!

I tend to agree with Loveunderlaw. Charles Pierce caught that certain something that makes fans of this movie love it for something more than just another cheesy monster flick. The atmosphere is just incredible, and the area at that time was still backwards enough that the film could have been made anytime from 1940 to 1980 and captured the flavor of a time and place technology and modernity have taken away from us.
