How about remakes?

The thing I keep wondering is why doesn't Hollywood remake all 4½ Bruce Lee movies? I'd love to see "updated" versions of all of them! Modernize the originals as little as possible (set them all in the US... just don't tamper with the gross-out scenes!)
Now, we ALL agree that CGI should NOT be used to 'aid' the fights, but the actor TRYING to fill Bruce's shoes should be a regular martial arts guru himself.

Now who'd be the one... the most obvious answer is Jet Li, but I'd prefer someone fresh. However Jet Li would make a perfect nemesis for some movie (and Steven Seagal would make another), considerable right-arm henchmen would be Mark Dacascos and Jean-Claude Van Damme... and Dolph Lundgren would be the Russian opponent :D
Jackie Chan, Bolo Yeung, Sammo Hung & Chuck Norris would just HAVE to appear in cameos in the movies they originally were in!

Warner brothers, you hear?

As it has been said, a remade has already been done by Jet Li.

In Jet Li's latest film (Fearless), he starred as Chen Zhen's dead master(teacher), Huo Yuan Jia so we can actually see that as a prequal of this. Now, if Fearless 2 is made, then most likely it will be a remake of Chen Zhen's movies, and it is cool if Jet Li stars in it again, but it would be hella weird because you know why. :p

EDIT: On side note, keep in mind that Chen Zhen is just a fictional character unlike Huo Yuan Jia, who exists in history.

If there would ever come a remake of one of the movies with Bruce Lee, then i suggest they do it on "game of death". The original was crap. So i dont think a remake in this millenium could screw that much up.

If they would leave out the original footage of Mr. Lee and take a new, fresh martial artist/actor who can perform >>>"ALL"<<< the "fighting choreography" himself without the supernatural jumping and flying around stuff, along with the "original script" that Mr bruce Lee wrote,
Then i think i'll go and watch that movie.
By the way, the leading role has to be played by someone who is actualy practicing (Jun Fan )Jeet Kune Do.

there WAS a remake called "fist of legend"

it was with jet li

donnie yen also did a tv show drama in hk

then did a modern version in 2010 that's classified as a sequel (even though in the 70's there were ALOT of sequels to milk bruce lee's name for money)

this was with donnie yen too "the legend of chen zhen" which was more of a head nod to bruce lee then to chen zhen and the REAL life people who suffered from the japs and couldn't beat chen zhen's master so they poisoned him. (hence the head no to "the green hornet")

p.s they did a prequel 'fok yeun gap' named in the west as "fearless"(a bastardise english title)

with jet li, jet li beat the russians the japs, so they couldn't win so the japs got mad and poisoned fok yuen gap, chen zhen (played by bruce lee) avenges him
