Please Help, This is driving me crazy. I bought this DVD several months ago and just watched it with my visiting 36 yr. old son,and we both say we never saw this movie before! The one I remember takes place in a small town with a school and several other buildings, not just a gas station and motel stuck out in nowhere,in the desert.Plus ALL the gargoyles had wings, not just 2 adults and a newly "hatched" one(demons from eggs, how HOKEY is that) The movie we remember did not even have the caverns and gargoyle eggs, but was a much better movie, because the winged gargoyles are so much creepier. Does anyone else remember the same version,my son and I do,and know if it is available?
Funny how people tend to remember things after much time has elapsed - except, of course, for the title. For some reason, this movie popped into my head a couple of days ago. And this is what brought me here. I remember this movie from the seventies (mid, I think); it showed in Melbourne, Australia one Saturday night.
As the "searcher" had said, it was also how I remembered the movie. Not sure about the "statue" bit - though it rings a bell - but positive about them occupying tall buildings, chatting amongst themselves, looking down on humanity (so to speak). The costumes, also, though blurred by the passage of time, looked phenomenally real.
I was sure that "Gargoyles" was part of the title, though I could be wrong about that. I did however catch parts of the 1972 film on You Tube, thinking that was the one, but the little I did see didn't remind me of it at all. This was more gothic, and set in a city type of landscape.
Perhaps I should check that 1972 film out a little more, just to be sure. But what I did see places it somewhere in the country and the costumes (yes affected by the passage of time) look ghastly. I don't know, but the movie I saw seemed dark and, for its time, a little scary.
Will keep looking. I don't know how more people can't remember this movie; if it's been made, it should be out there.
This is another one of those movies i only saw glimpses of, but i'll always remember. I literally only remember a couple of frames of Bernie Casey in make-up. I remember being scared & impressed at the same time. I saw it as a re-run and i don't think i was even 5 years old. Other films that i'll always remember, but only saw tiny amounts of were "Magic" & "don't be afraid of the dark"
