Worst movie to ever reach my eyes

This is by far the worst film I have ever seen. Its slow, undeveloped plot and general storyline carry on a horrible progression of insignificant and confusing scenes. Its acting is none the better; but worst of all is the script. The actors ramble on with pointless monologues and unrealistic dialogues. All in all, this movie SUCKS!!!

I'm with you mate, the picture was awful and I was so looking forward to it having seen the cover art etc.
The best part was at the start when the entire troop were making their way down the mountain side but it quickly became apparent that this is a stinker. It's a B film at most with awful acting, storyline and direction.
Sorry to all you devoted Hertzog fans out there but if this was by another director you would be in agreement.

no no, this is one of the greatest movies ever made. it is just not for you.

Then please shut the F up because you obviously have no experience watching movies.

Not the worst I've seen but not as good as I thought it would be - 7.5

Yeah. Solid 8 but probably not more (though you never know how the opinion might change on repeat viewings). The low budget, including the bad dubbing, drags it down. I also find the campier moments (falling cannons exploding, dying soldiers wisecracking, chopped off heads talking) in poor taste.

I agree j_bass88 it is a lousy film, very pretentious and a non existent storyline. On the plus side it has a wonderful setting and is beautifully shot. Fortunately I managed to get most of my money back for the blu ray by reselling it.

I also didn't like it that much but it's far from the worst.

Also, now it's very well-known that in a lot international and art-house films the plot or story is not really that important. You shouldn't be expecting, in these times, every film to be narrative. It's more about what the director is saying: is there something philosophical in the movie? What are the characters going through? What's the conclusion? Etc. Besides, there's a lot going on here in terms of story.

That being said, I didn't feel engaged with the film in the middle, the first half hour was very strong, with a lot of movement and exploration in the jungle (and those rapids). The last 15 minutes were also very good. Then the pacing and acting turned a little weird (a little editing would have helped). There were also some weird comedic scenes (but I must say they were funny, though you could say they added the "campy" quality to the film).

You also should acknowledged how good the film turned out with a extremely low budget, many extras, non-actors, filming in the jungle and some improvisation.

I think a second watching with a more opened mind (and getting used to the production value) would benefit the experience.

7/10.

maybe not THE worst, but pretty bad.

I decided to check it out after a re-viewing of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (the best movie ever climatologically) and Aguirre's prominent mention, alss I guess it was to show what a fool his dad was.
