HATE this movie. It is really sadistic towards children. Its just child abuse on film

Everything that happened to the kids was due to their own ignorance and decision to break the rules. Their parents allowed their worst traits to continue and they only saw the folly after the kids got into trouble. On a bright note, each kid was okay at the end of the movie according to Wonka.

One of my favourite parts is when Wonka and an Oompa Loompa are discussing where to take Mike Teevee to fix him, we hear muffled talking and then Wonka says, "No, I won't hold you responsible"; this always makes me laugh.

Didn't the kids get into those situations on their own. Augustus was drinking out of the chocolate river and fell in. Violet ate the gum even after Wonka told her not to. Veruca fell into the shoot because she stood on the trap door. Mike stood in front of the camera and was shrunk, because he wanted to be on TV. Even Charlie almost died because he and Grampa Joe drank Fizzy Lifting Drinks. All of the kids did it to themselves. Wonka even tells Charlie in the end that all the kids are fine. Wonka didn't abuse the kids at all.
