shareI'm watching it right now, for the umpteenth time, and I honestly never noticed it before. He looks a little pink to me, not exactly burned - at least not on my TV.
People weren't into SPFs back then. And who knows, maybe he drove a convertible in real life, hung out at the beach, and generally destroyed his skin.

Plus, there are all those walking outdoors and sex in the open scenes, and he's driving a convertible around Carmel, so he probably got a lot of sun while filming.
