What's up with Chuck's attire?

In the scene where he dresses up for dinner, prancing around his apartment looking like Liberace- I nearly soiled myself with laughter! All I kept thinking about was the "puffy shirt" episode from Seinfeld. I’m actually surprised alpha-male Heston agreed to wear it at all.

Maybe a better title for the movie would've been…

"The Effeminate Man"

I've...seen things you people wouldn't believe...

I always assumed his wearing that gaudy green velvet jacket was intentionally over the top to convey a sarcastic attitude towards the old world that was long gone, but he kept kept the memory alive to help preserve his sanity. Or something like that.

I'm genuinely convinced that every movie would be better with Arnold Schwarzenegger in it.

Well it was the early 1970's, which was more or less and hangover from the late 1960's. With all the years of conservative fashion. Clothing became more unisex, woman wore pants and slacks and men started wearing all different fabrics and colours.

Really? And the sausages he pulled out of the fridge didn't bother you? Considering this was a few years after the world went to hell and there was no supermarkets with fresh meat, you're more concerned with the way he dressed? LOL.

Watching this now. He just said, "What day is it anyway? Monday? The hell it is, it's Sunday. Sunday I always dress for dinner."

Every person that served can be called a veteran, but not every veteran can be called a Marine.
