In my opinion, this is Fulci's best work. I was just wondering if anyone else agrees with me, but not many people have checked out this movie I see.

Like others have said, a very good movie technically, very well shot (what Fulci does best, strangely, is dialogue scenes), but I don't think it's among his best for a number of reasons, including the basis of the plot (the dream and its validity for the audience) and little annoying things (I found the whistling so fake and irritating).

I agree, Fulci's best works are the earlier ones in his career. my first exposure to him was "The Beyond," which I found to be quite beautiful visually, but can't deny it has an unpolished look to it. when I saw "Don't Torture A Duckling" and "Lizard In A Woman's Skin" I was surprised at how technically well-made they were. Lizard' is My favorite Fulci movie as well, it is a work of art IMO..
