So much nudity for 71
I was really surprised at all the nudity with this coming out in 71.
shareI was a bit surprised myself although judging by the replies on the post, nudity in films was more common back then.
Still, what really stands out in "The Last Picture Show" isn't the nudity, but rather its other explorations into sexuality and relationships. Extramarital affairs, frank discussions about sex, as well as the relationships between partners with significant age differences. This film was from around the time of "The Graduate" so I shouldn't have been too surprised, but still, I wasn't expecting that angle in the film.
