Great Script! Wish it was available to read

Just saw this again on TCM last night - what a GREAT movie. So funny, such black humor, great actors and actresses.(Scott, Rigg, Hughes (in two roles) Nancy Marchand, Frances Sternhagen. Great camerawork too - Hiller uses a lot of long tracking shots that are terrific, makes it seem so natural. There are so many good speeches I wish the script was available to read. Several long monologues - Scott of course, but also Rigg's when she talks about her life - I kept thinking, "wow, what great writing". TCM ran the movie uncut so you get the full flavor of the language. Definitely a keeper, must get this one on DVD. Movies like these, with intelligent language just reminds you what paltry trash is being foisted on us.

The script was published in "The Collected works of Paddy Chayefsky : The Screenplays Vol. II" (ISBN 1-55783-194-7), along with the scripts for 'Network' and 'Altered States'.

Nifty citation. My bet is that you're a book person.

Books & movies -- they'll take over your home, if you're not careful. I like the t-shirt/bumper sticker catchphrase, "So many books, so little time...."

-- <If I could make this rectangular & 3-d, we could pretend it was a book smilie. Or not. I dunno.>

Anyway, good cite.

The dialogue during the extended scene between Scott and Rigg is AS GOOD AS IT GETS.
