Why did the name change on imdb?

It hasn't been released in English anywhere with that title.

Really?

DYS is the ONLY title I ever saw for a theatrical release in the US.
Saw huge full-page ads in the Los Angeles Times in 1972.

Glad I didn’t see it, as it was cut to a PG and much shorter.

I resisted watching this film for many years because the title "Duck you, Sucker!" made me think that it was some sort of B movie. It really is a very confusing title.

A Fistful of Dynamite isn't great either btw. But at least it would have give you a better indication of what you would be getting when you saw it.

reply

Agreed.

Once Upon a Time a Revolution would have been more fitting with the film's more ominous themes.

When I 1st saw it in the theater it was "A Fist full of Dynamite" --- When I bought the 1st Tape it was "Duck you Sucker" ---- Couldn't tell you why,,, Don't care --- AS somebody else said the title should have been "The Revolution."

The story I heard was the Leone mistakenly thought "duck you sucker" was a common American phrase, and he wanted the film to seem hip and American, so he included the phrase throughout the film, and used it as the title. Sone American distributors, realizing the title was nonsense to Americans, opted for A Fistful of Dynamite to hopefully tie the film into Leone's earlier hit film, so it shows up with both titles.
