Bambi and Thumper crossed the line into parody territory, as did the moon-buggy sequence. But number one has to be the "death by mashed potatoes" scene early on (the yellow stuff in that tank was actually mashed potatoes). A guy sits up with a gun, covered with goo, only to be thwarted when Bond opens up a spigot, dumping more mashed potatoes on him. And it actually kills him. Oh, no! Not a semi-strong stream of runny yellow glop! Anything but that!
And, it may not be the most egregious unintentional laugh, but when the movie starts with Sean Connery looking at the camera, grinning, and saying "My name is Bond . . James Bond" it told me "they're not taking this seriously."
And, of course he says that in (almost) every movie, but in this case it happened so abruptly, with no context, that it seemed like pure fan service. "Hey, look at me . . I'm back, SC giving you more of what you like! Watch me say 'Bond . . James Bond' . . wasn't that cool? Check, please . . "
I haven't seen any of the older Bond movies in years, and this one in particular helped me appreciate the Craig films. They aren't perfect (though 2/4 are pretty damn good), but I have to say they're trying.
