I'm pro-rape

I was at a bar wearing a clockwork orange themed shirt and some girl got in my face and accused me of being "pro-rape." Is that true, am I pro-rape because I like the movie?

reply

I don't know. Do you get a boner watching the rape scene in the Derelict Casino?

reply

Never heard of it.

reply

How many times have you seen Clockwork Orange? The Derelict Casino is where Alex and his droogs meet up with Billyboy and his gang raping a woman at the very beginning of the film.

reply

Truthfully I haven't seen it in decades.

reply

Should have just reminded her that maybe she shouldn’t be antagonizing someone who is so obviously in favor of rape.

Pro Rape is also better than amateur rape.

reply

Makes you wonder what she was thinking.

reply

Seems like she was in the market for a good raping.

reply

Well, who isn't?

reply

Just as much as everyone who liked Hannibal is a serial killer and a cannibal.

reply

Sounds like you need the Ludovico Treatment.

reply

No. That assertion is preposterous

reply

YES.

reply

You missed a great line by correcting her.

"No, I'm pro GANG rape."

A witty comback like that might have got you some.

reply

LOL!

reply

On a lighter note: most women actually enjoy being raped

reply

The thing is, are you pro "it" in REAL LIFE, as in, do you think in any way it should be acceptable and not illegal etc? If you are not, and you are sure of it, then you are not pro rape period.

Also, minor detail, but I love how, ironically, you opened the thread with a declaration like "I'm pro-rape" as opposed to, say, asking "Am I pro it?" or saying "I wore clothes from this movie and someone accused me of being it, how right or wrong are they?" etc. Then again...

If you were wearing say Nazi clothes or clothes of popular serial killers, would you be pro war and pro mass or otherwise MURDER?

OK, I know that for many people, and in TODAY'S digital day and age, rape and sexual abuse are even MORE SENSITIVE subjects than even that of murder and you see and hear people talk a lot about it online with many debates etc but also constant reminders of how terrible and wrong it is, no doubt. But then OK by merely wearing clothes like that of a character, well, I PERSONALLY don't think that makes one pro-rape or pro-it etc.

Also, how do you feel that in this movie, A Clockwork Orange, despite his undeniably terrible deeds INCLUDING sexual violence, we are actually encouraged to relate to and even feel somewhat sympathetic towards its antagonist Alex De Large as opposed to seeing whatever bad happens to him as justified, a form of catharsis AND a happy ending? Mmm?
