Probably my favorite film of all time

If not my favorite, one of my favs.

I watched it when I was 18, and I had never seen, up until that point, an artistic film before. I was instantly floored by it. Thought it was a masterpiece, and it still holds up now that I am 26. I love the social, political, and religious commentary of the picture. Malcomn as Alex is really one of my favorite performances of all time. I love the fact that the movie plays with you on how to view Alex as a human being or not, and raising the question on how we should treat people such as Alex. I love this commentary on what is violence and where does it come from. I love the whole new vocabulary that Burgues invented. I love the score and the soundtrack. Of course everytime I hear Beethoven it reminds me of this picture.

Its the movie that made me embarc on a Stanley Kubrick marathon and made me I Kubrick lover instanstly.

Cheers, oh my brothers!

Agreed.

The film is a classic. I remember when I first watched it, I didn't like it. But that's only because I didn't understand the commentary, and the overall meaning of the film. I first watched it when I was 16. Over the years, I've come to recognize what a masterpiece the movie is. There aren't too many films that I can solidly compare it to. The film score was also amazing by the way. I don't know which Kubrick film I like more...A Clockwork Orange or The Shining. They're both just so good.

Cheers to you as well, and welcome to the club!
Kubrick is one of the greats.

Respectfully disagree. It's a great film, but sort of like Natural Born Killers, it's too "out there" (for me) to say it's an absolute favorite. It doesn't really make you feel good or make you think much. There's plenty to think about, of course, but compared to 2001, it's not mysterious and thought-provoking. It's more gaudy and eye capturing. That said, I do like this film and Kubrick a TON, or else I wouldn't be discussing it.

Mine too

Agree. A Clockwork Orange is one of my favorites....now that I'm old enough to appreciate it - and all of Kubrick's great films. I hope they never take it off Netflix!

I adore this film as well. It's certainly not for everyone, but I find it disturbing, funny, and thought-provoking all at once. While Kubrick arguably made better movies, this is easily my favorite and certainly a desert island pick.

Not my favourite film, but a 10/10.

Definitely in my top five movies. It blew my mind and cemented my love of Kubrick's work. I've seen it over twenty times and still it amazes me. I love everything about it.
