so this film is a comedy

I had avoided this movie for a long time because I read the book about ten years ago and didn't like it very much. I don't remember it being comedic either. I think it's beat for beat the same as the movie. But, Kubrick adds little touches here and there that are very funny. This film was way better than I expected.

The book was definitely darker. The younger ages of the main character made it more disturbing.

It may have traces of black comedy but I wouldn't call the film itself a comedy.
