Favorite Characters

Who are your Favorite Characters?

My Favirite Characters are Mrs Bridges and Rose with Hudson in Third.

My Least Favorites are Alfred and Miss Roberts. And Emily as well, although it was sad how her character was written off.

My favorite downstairs characters were Hudson and Mrs. Bridges.

My favorite upstairs characters were Lord Bellamy and Lady Marjorie.

Well, I'll chime in.

First off, it all depends on how you define 'favorite'. Is a favorite character one that you truly love, or could it be one who has decidedly negative qualities, but who is interesting and adds a lot to the story? I think this is a particularly relevant question for this show, given the nature of some of the characters.

The characters that I had a personal affinity for, and always wished a good outcome for
were: Hudson, Mrs. Bridges, Richard, and Edward.

Those who I didn't like personally but I thought were great characters and excellent for the show were: Sarah, and Elizabeth. I thought the show took a serious dip when those two were gone for good.

The characters that I most disliked personally were all the obvious ones we were *supposed* to dislike. Such as Dolly, or the awful governess who wanted to get rid of the dog Thimble.

The ones I disliked in terms of thinking they were bad for the show were James and Hazel. James was just too inconsistently written, and I found Hazel to be dull and lifeless.

hudson and Mrs Bridges, with Ruby in third. I didn't like alfred at all

Hudson & Mrs. Bridges downstairs. Mr. Bellamy upstairs.

Lady Marjorie as a character was good, but the actress had a very bad habit of looking like she was playing a blind woman. She always looked like she was looking at something about 6 inches in front of her face.

Edward - so glad they didn't write Christopher Beeny out after his accident - James, Ruby. And Lady Prudence.

I didn't like Hazel, at all, at first. Can't quite put my finger on it - too much of a martyr, maybe? But she turned out to be an admirably sharp cookie, and very kind, as with Roberts, and later with Rose regarding Gregory.
