comedy media in the movie....

I just had a thought....

you can hear one of the shows has a comedy skit about a car and the guy asks "WHERE did you get this car??"

the tone of the guy seems elated, happy, smiling... "WHERE DID YOU GET THIS CAR??" with a smile on his face...

yet everyone in that world appears to be a drugged up, bland, non-emotional person.

is the elation of the guy asking about the car very very unusual in that people would not even know how to act that way, in that dreary future??

I also noted the laughter sound track during that. no one really knows how to laugh.
Even THX caracter SPEAKS, "that was very funny" in a low dull tone.

How do they even know humor?

It's not a perfect movie, but I enjoy it, and it showed that world pretty well, with some small exceptions.
