Football scene the best part of the movie?

Who else thinks the football game was the movie's best part? You've gotta love when the gun goes off and Hotlips says, "Oh my God! They've shot him!"
Then Colonel Blake says, "Hotlips, you incredible nincompoop! It's the end of the quarter!" That made me laugh so hard!

Not to me. I think it is the weakest part, or goes on too long, at least for my taste.

Can't believe some of these responses. Maybe they don't know enough about football? The center-handoff trick play is one of the greatest scenes of all time. "Hey coach, I got the ball!"

I thought the film had lost it's way by then (and even more so during). The first half of the film was dominated by Sutherland's Hawkeye, but he blended into the background.
It's one of those films I remember well, yet struggle to recall the end.
