Well, I saw this movie for the first time when I was very young, and only remembered that I though Bergman looked gorgeouse (couldb't care less about Hawn). So, a bit hesetantly I watched it again last night.

And, as it has been said, didn't she look AMAZING!

But to my point of this topic. I was just blown away by the dancing scene, where Bergman and Hawn and the young bloke are dancing away, doing this late 60's dans rutine. To see Bergman (From the golden age of movies!) doing this dance (with Goldie Hawn!), it's just a picture I couldn't ever have imagined. Bergman was such a sport, cool as hell.

And over all I think Bergman was the one who delivered the comedy in this one.

That scene is one of my very favorites in any film. However, I have to disagree on one point. I think that everybody in the scene is delivering the comedy. Everyone from Ingrid to Jack Weston's hilarious date. And the funky music, too. Gotta love it.

Always loved the funky music; I think it was some version of The Monkees hit "I'm a Believer".

Yes they did the also played a version of "To Sir With Love" before "Believer"

i believe the song playing just before I'm a Believer was "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight" by Boyce and Hart...love that cheesy organ!

Right! They do instrumental versions of two Monkees songs: "I'm a Believer" and "She Hangs Out", with fuzz guitar melody...so funny.

I couldn't agree more...Goldie Hawn may have won an Oscar for it, but it's Bergman who makes this film still watchable after all these years.

Could it be that Goldie Hawn's character is an image of the sixties and so she seems dated? Bergman, we can identify with her because we've gone passed the sixties - love child groovy, phase.

Ingrid had me sweating hard in that scene. Oh, is she ever hot in it.

In the first scene in the bar the band is playing an instrumental version of Boyce and Hart's "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight".

Is it just me, or does it seem that when the filed they danced to different (or no) music, and then it dubbed in later? I know that mod dancing in the era was often hurky-jerky and to-your-own-beat, and perhaps the main characters were dancing in a particular way to fit their characters. But even the extras seemed to be all off-kilter, and the one song with clapping was out of synch.

Yeah, I really noticed that, as well. On a side note, watch th original "Poseidon Adventure" and while the band is playing "The Morning After" you can see people disco dancing to the slow ballad! lol
