Brad Pitt and Leo DiCaprio in a remake?

No, they're not as good of a pair as Redford and Newman were, but they'd still be a pretty handsome pair and they would be able to pull off the roles. Despite the fact that Brad Pitt has blond hair, I'm still picturing him as the role of Butch and Leo as the role of Sundance. I don't know the details about the actual people though. Maybe Sundance got his nickname because of his blond hair. I suppose a remake could be an insult to the original movie and the epic pairing of Redford and Newman, but I would still prefer to see that than a lot of the films Hollywood is coming out with these days. It would be a good movie that would sell well without a heavy use of CGI effects.

What's wrong with the original? It would be better than 95% of what Hollywood spews out, but also pointless, unless you're the producer.

Pitt and DiCaprio? Nothing against them but....NO NO NO NO NO (repeat until the page is full, printer)

The storyline is the most important part of the film not what the stars look like. Hollywood should be forced to not make remakes, create new and good storylines and scripts and entertain us properly. For the past 10 years you'll be lucky if one decent film has come out in each of the years.

No. Just no. There is no movie pairing that will EVER match wjat redford and Newman had in terms of chemistry and banter. If they ever remade this movie it would flop and it would be a huge embarrassment to everyone involved.

Which jack-ass did you think Dicaprio could play?

I think a Pitt / Clooney pairing would be better. I don't normally go for remakes of classic films but for some reason I think a remake of this film would work. And their sense of humour which they show in their acting would be perfect.

Reading the other comments, I do think the Bolvia portion of the film is the best bit I found the first hour a little slow with very little happening but in Bolvia the film goes into orbit with great action sequences, humour and action.
