I mean it's on frickin' HBO now? What the Hell? I could have never imagined the show would no be on PBS. If that's not enough it's now only going to be a half-hour long? I think they inked a five-year deal but something just tells me Sesame Street is slowly dying.
You're right. I get that feeling too. It's not the fun show it used to be. I was never a loyal viewer, but I can tell, just from the clips on YouTube.
Surprised that in over 40 years though (closer to 50), there have only been 200-plus episodes made. But, in a way, that's good, as it means that it won't take too many DVDs to put them out. So, I think Sesame Street from the beginning all the way through to the 1990s should be released in a DVD-set together, as that's when the show was fun and not so PC-politicized. And, everything that came after the 1990s can just be in its own set, so that those of us with no interest in the Sesame Street of that era won't have to be subjected to those lesser-quality episodes.
Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!
It doesn't even have a 'Sesame Street Has Been Brought To You Today' closing anymore! They just cut from either Elmo's World or Elmo: The Musical (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MAKE IT STOP!!) right to the closing credits!!
