It's such a PSA on safety I think. It used to annoy me because only old people use stair railings on staircases in reality. Although I admit it does look like quite a dangerous staircase
When I see the Brady kids holding onto the railings I think of hand sanitizer. Was that popular back in the '70s? I don't recall seeing it, but that doesn't mean it didn't exist.
Bobby makes it all the way to the top, but can't get down. Mike is summoned from his den and is visibly annoyed at the boys for the zany hijinx. Alice gets the ladder and saves the day, all the while apologizing to Mr. Brady.
Well from what I've seen in my life so far is that I don't see many children holding onto handrails when using stairs.
And I also see lots of parents telling their kids NOT to use the handrails because of germs and disease exposure. None of my younger cousins use the hand railings and they are aged from 10 as the eldest and 3 as the youngest. They just go up and down and hope for the best
"And I'm wearing a tuxedo for no apparent reason."
I work for a company that is ultra safety conscious, and they have big signs in all of the stairwells to use the hand railings. One time, I disregarded the sign and someone called me out on it.
I fell hard the stairs at my school as a kid because I wasn't holding on to the railing. I now do it every time and make sure my kids do too. It takes one falls to learn that lesson.
Yeah. It was winter and I was leaving a friend's house and slid on some ice that had accumulated on their porch and slid down the concrete stairs, hitting ever stair on the way down with my posterior region. Not fun...
