Underrated classic Western

This really is a superb film and one of Burt's best.

Action and comedy aplenty and it's such a shame so few people have seen it. I only caught the film by accident one sunday afternoon - but I'm so glad I did.

I'm also glad I got the reg 2 dvd, it's just a shame there are no extra's whatsoever for it. Surely a few filmographies and a trailer at the very least? And perhaps a commentary from a western expert or any of the cast?

Still a great film which deserves an average of an 8 and NOT a rubbish 6.

I came on here to post a topic about how it so deserves more than a 6. Glad i'm not the only one who thinks so. It SHOULD be mentionned in the same breath as other classic westerns. It's fun, intelligent and has a great "badass" main character in Joe Bass. I saw this movie again recently and the sad thing however is i'd forgot until 5 mins in that i'd seen it before! It's anything but forgettable. Anywhere under 7.5 is too low for this film.

It deserves a lot better than a 6.

I don't remember having seen this, but I will be showing it for my movie group of fellow seniors within the next three weeks.

Hey, all of us "old folks" loved it!!! Four outstanding actors portraying four outstanding characters: Burt Lancaster, Telly Savalas, Ossie Davis, and Shelley Winters. It certainly deserves a higher rating.

I just caught it on TV last night and was pleasantly surprised. It was really a good movie and quite hilarious sometimes too. Loved Ossie Davis, he was great. I need to see more of his movies, I only ever saw him in a couple things.

I just saw it for the first time. Highly entertaining. Lancaster was in great company. Ossie Davis was tops.

I liked the ending where Ossie and Burt are covered with the same mud and finally looked much the same. Nice ending for 1968.
