Lots of chimps, gorillas, and orangutans, but no bonobos?

And no gibbons. Either bonobos and gibbons didn't develop intelligence, became extinct for one reason or another, or none of them lived in that particular village.

I believe some of the comic adaptations depicted gibbons. I don't recall if bonobos ever made an appearance.

The bonobos went extinct. Remember, this was set 2000 years into the future
