Just Watched it Again

I've seen this movie many times and finally bought the DVD. When I was watching it the other night, the same question popped up in my head.

Oscar asks Felix to move in with him not knowing what a gigantic pain in the a@@ he was. Okay, makes sense. You never really know a person until you live with them.

But in the earlier scene when they are walking and talking and Felix is making his "moose calls" in the diner, why is Oscar so surprised at what he does? He says that Felix is his best friend. Surely he must have known about his sinuses and bursitis and allergies before that night. Felix hardly seems like the type to suffer in silence!

I also can't believe that Felix would've been okay with Oscar's poker nights with "green and brown" sandwiches. It seems like Felix would have tried to cater these affairs before he moved in with Oscar.

I guess I shouldn't nitpick such a funny movie. Those early conversations were probably just exposition for the audience's benefit. As best friends, you'd think Felix and Oscar knew each other better than that.
Of course living with each other was waaaay different than just knowing each others' faults and foibles.
