What's Wrong With Being Athiest?

That priest really overreacted. He didn't said you can't be Catholic, don't fault him for being Atheist than.

Religious people may take offense to atheism and atheists for a variety of reasons. One being that they may feel their beliefs are being challenged by atheists. This can lead to feelings of discomfort and defensiveness. Another is that they view atheism as a threat to their way of life or to society as a whole. They feel that without religious beliefs, people are more likely to engage in immoral behaviour. Or they can just be intolerant to people who simply don't share their views. This intolerance can manifest itself in a variety of ways, from social exclusion to outright discrimination.

Religion is a comfortable delusion. Believing that we somehow live on after death reduces the fear of dying, as well as the pain of losing loved ones. Atheists have the maturity and rationality to face these issues head on

The Bible says "The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God' " (Psalm 14:1 & Psalm 53:1).

There are 2 basic options concerning how human life originated and life in general, not to mention the Earth & Universe: They’re either the result of mindless, nonliving matter or there is a Creator. Which one is more logical and scientific? The reason you can read a book or hear a song is because someone created them. The reason you can live in your abode is because someone designed it and some people built it.

The Bible teaches that everything you see and experience—living and un-living—did not just accidently manifest. There is an Intelligent Designer of all that exists. Belief in God is simply a part of the make-up of human beings; it’s in our spiritual DNA because we were made in God’s image and likeness.

The Earth & Universe and all living things inspire belief in a Creator; more than that, creation screams out God’s existence (Psalm 19:1-4 & Romans 1:18-20). To suggest that everything in the Universe came about through accident and that there’s no Intelligent Designer behind it all is like expecting a Boeing 747 to emerge out of a metal scrapyard after millions of years. It’s absurd. The hypothetical scrapyard can’t even produce a simple table or chair let alone a jet airplane!

Furthermore, the axiom of biogenesis notes that life only proceeds from life—living things cannot manifest from something un-living. Only conscious life can produce conscious life. It’s a scientific fact, not to mention obvious to a simpleton. Thus there is some kind of God—a Creator—from which all conscious life proceeds.

So, the question is not if there is a God, but rather who is God?

The Bible reveals God to be YHWH (Yahweh) or "I Am Who I Am" (Exodus 3:13-15). God was saying, in effect, “My name is the fact that I exist.” Some 1545 years later, Christ told some Hebrews who wanted to kill him: “Very truly I tell you, before Abraham was born, I Am” (John 8:58).

“The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent” (John 6:29).

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them” (John 3:36).
