What year does this story take place?

The movie was made in 1968. It's hard to tell, what year does this story take place? They have electricity, but with the old buildings and furnishings it has this 1800s retro look to it.

It seems most of the old Dracula, Frankstein and Wolfman movies have this very old look to it. Having never visited these countries where the story takes place, I have no idea if the decor in the homes look the way it's shown.

Around 1896 or 1897. But consistency is Hammer films was never their strong point.

The coffin, which Dracula uses under the town, next to the bakery, has the inscription "Gizela Seinz, 1885-1905," so the setting must be on the early 1900s. When Gizela was rolled out of the coffin, she looked recently interred, so 1905?
