In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Fonda, 85, said she tries "not to" think about the forthcoming project, when asked for her opinion on the remake, which she is not involved with.

"I try not to. Because I worry about what it's going to be," the 80 for Brady star told the outlet.

Fonda starred in a 1968 adaptation of the French comic book series from director Roger Vadim, which follows an astronaut "from the 41st century" who must stop an evil scientist named Durand Durand from using a weapon called the Positronic Ray, according to a synopsis on IMDB and Deadline.

"I had an idea of how to do it that [original producer] Dino De Laurentiis, when he was still alive, wouldn't listen to," Fonda explained to the outlet. "But it could have been a truly feminist movie."

Fonda has offered some criticism of her Barbarella movie in the past. At the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, the actress said she "took the easy road for a while" with roles she now considers to be less than flattering.

"I would say that ended with Barbarella," she said at the time, according to HuffPost. "I liked doing something that caused a certain generation of men to have their first erections. But then I became an activist."

Her dumb idea for a truly feminist movie was ignored by the great De Laurentis and now "Barbarella" is remembered fondly. We need knew Dino De Laurentis's to tell current feminists no.

Hilarious. I think Barbarella was the first move I ever say that had free and unrestricted views of the female breast. Fonda was very sexy, the movie was hilarious and I have no idea how I saw it at such a young age. The problem was that at that age her Father, Henry Fonda, was a big star, and his face was all over the place and far more recognizeable than Jane's. So, Jane Fonda looked so much like her famous father it kind of turned me off even though she was a real sex kitten.

Has that ever happened with anyone else. There was a younger girl that I went to High School with who had a brother in my same year. She was physically really hot, and she really liked me, however I could not get past the image of her brother attached to that sexy body.
