I mean i know that a lot of people were expecting a lot more eroticisim but, this film along with Blue was fantastic.
It's the first and only two films that i've seen use linear time like that.
Maybe somebody who hates it could shine some light for me?
Well, I Am Curious is definitely not suitable for everyone's tastes-- I find that a great deal of movies that are about sexuality or feature explicit nudity/sex have ratings on imdb that run a little low. I think a lot of members watch it, and a good deal of them get offended by the content, therefore lowering its score.
I gave I Am Curious a 10/10 because I really truly loved it-- I connected to it, I liked the characters, I LOVED the avant-garde approach to its set up and style, and I think it's fun to watch.
However, I can easily see why some didn't care for it-- chances are most of them were expecting pornography, were put off by the confusing narrative (you've got to pay attention to this movie!), or turned off by its liberal politics.
Simple: It's advertised (by Criterion, no less) as a sexy movie, but it's really just an ongoing Communist advocacy.
